What's New

Search for new Pianist/Accompanist
While I have missed my colleague Kenneth, I feel blessed that there has been no interruption in the quality of our weekly music thanks to the wonderful musicians who have stepped up to fill this role.
During this time, I’ve been able to discuss with Pastor JT the needs of our program going forward. We will begin a search for a regular pianist/accompanist in October with the goal of a new hire beginning in January, 2025. In the meantime, Sally Greenleaf will accompany our choir, and we will rotate between Dr. Patrick Walders and Ross Hansen to play for services.
Organist Emeritus: David Kay
For some time now, we have observed a more “traditional“ approach to service on the second Sunday of the month. We plan to continue this tradition, more formally marking it as such by asking David Kay to regularly play this service. I’m thrilled to announce David has graciously accepted this request. With a desire to acknowledge David’s important role here and his many years of service to St. Pauls, it is with honor that we will bestow upon him the title of Organist Emeritus. Under this title, David will play 1 service per month and serve as the “go-to” expert for visiting or guest artists with questions about our organ.
Concert Series
There is robust appreciation for high-quality music in Coronado with many of the biggest supporters being right here in our congregation. For the next year, we will slowly be rolling out our newly minted “Concert Series.” The goal is to feature local and visiting artists between 4-6 times per year, while also featuring our very own choir and band for featured performances 2-3 times per year.
How can you help?
1. Attend a concert! Come support the artists making music in our community. Your donations will help them continue their artistry while allowing St. Paul’s to attract more vibrant artists to our space.
2. Join the Concert Series Committee: we will be forming a group of individuals to help plan for and implement these concerts. Please reach out to Justine if you’re interested in this exciting new venture.
3. Sponsor a concert. Either on your own or with a friend, you can sponsor a concert. Small concert sponsorship begins at $500. This fee helps cover the cost of facility use, staffing, and to provide a modest stipend to visiting artists.
